The mould was once used to hand produce 1,000s of adobe (mud) bricks for local home construction. They can be used as wooden planters indoors and gardens and balconies.

Of course with the advent of mechanisation, cement and concrete use of moulds like these has almost ceased. However, small-scale rural enterprises can still be found making bricks in parts of Africa and India. Some brick moulds have wooden, composite or plastic inserts with the maker's name or initials.
Our large vintage brick moulds are not new or made to look old. They will small marks, uneven surfaces and edges and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. We feel these add to their character and appeal.
