    Recently sourced from southen India, this striking wedding chest is a fine example of traditional wood workmanship with an extremely high skill-set.

    Opening the antique chest reveals a multitude of compartments and chambers for the storage of family heirlooms, valuables and important documents. Interestingly, there's a 'secret' compartment in the side panel (the opening is shown in one of the photos). Many decades ago, this chest would have been gifted to a young Indian couple at their wedding ceremony and used throughout their lives.
