    The distressed blue surface finish and practical storage potential of this rare metal antique filing cabinet with a secret compartment make it a statement piece.

    Scaramanga has an eye for rare historical pieces...and this distinctive item ticks all the boxes. Today, this robust filing cabinet would make a wonderful focal point for the home, retail or office interior. A great piece with a wonderful backstory.

    Originally this old heavy iron filing cabinet would have been used as a secure lockable strong-box by Indian merchants. It would have housed documents, deeds and precious items. Scamanaga thinks this cabinet was probably once owned by an Indian silver or gold precious metal dealer.

    We love the industrial aesthetic blended with the flexible storage configurations making it an excellent conversation item in any retro or contemporary interior.
