Our large wide retro satchel bag is a stylish, sturdy, multi-purpose leather bag with a perfectly aged leather exterior, inspired by the classic iconic old brown leather school satchel. Our large leather satchel for men is a versatile spacious bag for day-to-day stuff and everything you need to take to work. Each is handmade with strong double stitching and a tough canvas lining.
They can also be used as overnight travel bags or college book bags.
Perfect for carrying all your man-stuff around in style.
Each is so spacious that you will be able to fit a laptop or macbook pro and have space for files and lots more.
Under the flap is the main compartment large enough to hold a laptop or A4 files and folders, with a inside zipped pocket and a further pocket at the front of the bag. Their cool spacious design - with their strong double stitching and tough canvas lining - has made our large satchel a popular alternative to our messenger bag for carrying laptops.
Adjustable wide 62” shoulder strap.
Suitable for most 16" laptops and NetBook Pros. We strongly recommend using a 16" protective neoprene sleeve - such as those sold by Belkin.
Available in these leather finishes and styles: tan polished, polished antique, tan polished with front pocket and distressed with front pocket.

Please bear in mind that each vintage leather satchel is a totally natural product therefore the colours and the finish can vary from one piece to the next. Each has a unique antique leather / lightly distressed vintage leather look. Parts from several hides may be used to make a single Scaramanga leather bag. So there may be some variation in colour and the textures to the different parts of a bag, which will create a wonderfully unique effect. There may be significant variances in texture and shading, which is individual to each bag. Natural lines and marks in the leather are left fully exposed. There may also be visible creases in the leather. These features go to show the genuine origin of our leather satchels and messengers bags, they form part of the bag and not affect its durability. Our leather bags are handmade and your new leather bag may be subject to natural variation in its size. All this simply enhances the unique appearance of your bag and adds extra character.

I bought this for work a few months ago and its wearing in very nicely. It looks great and has a real vintage style to it. I particularly like the fact that is has real buckles rather than fake buckles covering magnetic catches. Much more authentic - carrying it around makes me feel like Hemmingway. A real bargain too. I couldn't find anything similar for anywhere near the price. Great service and speedy delivery. Thoroughly recommended.

When I was looking for a decent leather satchel to carry my stuff around I plugged the info into the search engine and found this site. Scaramanga had just what I was looking for at a very reasonable price so I ordered one online. Unfortunately the Item was out of stock but they kept me informed as to when they were getting fresh supplies and sure enough it duly turned up as promised. They also included a notebook as a gift for having to wait. The satchel is excellent and so is the service.

My Husband spotted the bag and started dropping heavy hints in the run up to Christmas. I was told it was out of stock and could not be guranteed to be in before Christmas so I ordered 'the second option'. Soon after placing the order I received a phone call to check whether I was still interested on the first option as the new stock had arrived and, therefore, delivery could be guaranteed for Christmas. The order arrived a few days after that as promised and my husband was very pleased with his present. I searched all over for the perfect 'man bag' for my boyfriend and had an impossible time finding it... until I stumbled on your website. This bag is EXACTLY what he wanted. Refreshingly affordable even with the low value of the dollar. I initially picked the wrong size and the exchange was so easy and painless even from the US. What a lovely bag! I bought this for my husband who as a garden designer wanted something professional yet not too formal looking. It easily holds several books and folders etc and would also accommodate a laptop. The leather is soft and looks lovely and used rather than squeaky and new which other leather bags can do. Came across this bag after a long search for a more stylish bag to carry my 17' macbook pro. I had a version of it custom made and it does not disappoint! The bag is finished to a very high standard the stitching is more than able to cope with the weight of the laptop along with accessories and books. The lining on the inside of the pockets provides good protection but theres still more than enough room for the protective laptop case should i wish to use it. Couldn't recommend a better bag to use as an everyday bag. Customer service was nothing less than excellent. Have and will be shopping here again!

I bought one of these Satchel's a couple of months ago and ordered a bag that was too small. There was no issue exchanging it, customer service was excellent. As for the bag couldn't be happier. This bag is for a lifetime. I’ve just received it, and you can definitely see the care that’s gone into its manufacturing. I can’t find one stitch out of place, really! And as the specs say, there’s plenty of room for anything I might want to stuff into it: my notebook, my trumpet method books, and a sweatshirt. It all fits in neatly. The cotton lining is beautiful too. And simply count out any of the usual online-ordering worries. The bag’s really as good as it looks on the pictures. Only, much better if you’ve got your own one to wear around your shoulders.

I ordered the satchel on a Friday and got it by the following Tuesday, all the way over here in the states. Now that is great delivery. The Large Wide Leather Satchel looks great, almost like it has been my companion for a long time. Not that it is worn or anything, it just has a great look and feel, not stiff and new. I got it to carry my 17 MacBook and it fits nice and snug in the neoprene sleeve I keep it in. Still has enough room for folders and books. Get one if you are looking for a great bag at an even better price.
