Our large wide retro satchel bag is a stylish sturdy multi-purpose leather bag with a perfectly aged leather exterior. Inspired by the classic iconic old brown leather school satchel our versatile retro leather satchel with it’s sturdy construction - strong double stitching and tough canvas lining - make it a great spacious bag for day-to-day stuff and everything you need to take to work.
They can also be used as an overnight travel bags or college book bags.

Each is so spacious that you will be able to fit a laptop or macbook pro and have space for files and lots more.
Under flap is the main compartment large enough to hold a laptop or A4 files and folders with a side zipped pocket and a further pocket at the front of the bag. Their cool spacious design - with their strong double stitching and tough canvas lining - has made our large satchel a popular alternative to our messenger bag for carrying laptops.

All our men’s leather satchels have a unique distressed vintage leather look, so no two bags will ever be exactly the same. There may be a little variation in the colour of the leather and the distressed / vintage leather effect may result in very small marks. We feel this adds to their character and appeal. The internal picture of the leather satchel is the medium size and is intended to show the pockets and lining of the satchel. The large satchel will be larger.

I bought this for work a few months ago and its wearing in very nicely. It looks great and has a real vintage style to it. I particularly like the fact that is has real buckles rather than fake buckles covering magnetic catches. Much more authentic - carrying it around makes me feel like Hemmingway. A real bargain too. I couldn't find anything similar for anywhere near the price. Great service and speedy delivery. Thoroughly recommended.
When I was looking for a decent leather satchel to carry my stuff around I plugged the info into the search engine and found this site. Scaramanga had just what I was looking for at a very reasonable price so I ordered one online. Unfortunately the Item was out of stock but they kept me informed as to when they were getting fresh supplies and sure enough it duly turned up as promised. They also included a notebook as a gift for having to wait. The satchel is excellent and so is the service.

My Husband spotted the bag and started dropping heavy hints in the run up to Christmas. I was told it was out of stock and could not be guranteed to be in before Christmas so I ordered 'the second option'. Soon after placing the order I received a phone call to check whether I was still interested on the first option as the new stock had arrived and, therefore, delivery could be guaranteed for Christmas. The order arrived a few days after that as promised and my husband was very pleased with his present. Altogether, I was very impressed with the customer care service provided and I would recommend Scaramanga to anyone.
I searched all over for the perfect 'man bag' for my boyfriend and had an impossible time finding it... until I stumbled on your website. This bag is EXACTLY what he wanted. Refreshingly affordable even with the low value of the dollar. I initially picked the wrong size and the exchange was so easy and painless even from the US. For others trying to choose a size, our experience was that the large looked too big on my thin 5'9' boyfriend. But the medium looks great and still fits his 13' laptop perfectly. I asked my husband what type of bag he wanted for Xmas and he said one that looks like Indiana Jones. Well he couldn't be more chuffed!! I received the leather satchel in about 5 days and it was exactly what I wanted. I looked at a few sites and especially ones in Australia but nothing compared to the old style satchel's from Scaramanga. My husband is thrilled with it and uses it everyday for work and play. What a lovely bag! I bought this for my husband who as a garden designer wanted something professional yet not too formal looking. It easily holds several books and folders etc and would also accommodate a laptop. The leather is soft and looks lovely and used rather than squeaky and new which other leather bags can do. Came across this bag after a long search for a more stylish bag to carry my 17' macbook pro. I had a version of it custom made and it does not disappoint! The bag is finished to a very high standard the stitching is more than able to cope with the weight of the laptop along with accessories and books. The lining on the inside of the pockets provides good protection but theres still more than enough room for the protective laptop case should i wish to use it. Couldn't recommend a better bag to use as an everyday bag. Customer service was nothing less than excellent. Have and will be shopping here again!
