Our medium wide retro satchel bag is a stylish, sturdy, multi-purpose leather bag with a perfectly aged vintage leather exterior.
Inspired by the classic iconic vintage brown leather school satchel, our versatile retro leather satchel with it’s sturdy construction - strong double stitching and tough canvas lining – is a great bag for all your day-to-day stuff and everything you may need to take to work.
Our satchels are smart enough for work and casual enough for going out.

Under the flap is the main compartment large enough to hold a laptop or A4 files and folders, with a side zipped pocket and a further pocket at the front of the bag. Their cool spacious design - with their strong double stitching and tough canvas lining - has made our medium satchel a popular alternative to our messenger bag for carrying laptops.

Please bear in mind that each leather satchel is a totally natural product therefore the colours and the finish can vary from one piece to the next. Each has a unique antique leather / lightly distressed vintage leather look. Parts from several hides may be used to make a single Scaramanga leather bag. So there may be some variation in colour and the textures to the different parts of a bag, which will create a wonderfully unique effect. There may be significant variances in texture and shading, which is individual to each bag. Natural lines and marks in the leather are left fully exposed. These features go to show the genuine origin of our leather satchels and messengers bags, they form part of the bag and not affect its durability. Our leather bags are handmade and your new leather bag may be subject to natural variation in its size. All this simply enhances the unique appearance of your bag and adds extra character.

I bought one of these bags because I was looking for something smart enough for work and outside of work. Has plenty of room and compartments and is just the right size for notepads / books / lunch box and will fit a laptop. The service and delivery of the bag I received was impeccable. Hard to find a fault.
This is a very pracitical bag made from high quality leather. It is big enough to hold all the normal everyday things you would scatter through your pockets including hats and scarfs, I can fit in my Goretex coat which avoids carrying it around on days away. The bag is big enough to hold a laptop if required but would suggest that the strap needs to be wider if used for this purpose. I am very please with the item and expect to get many years service and I have not seen anyone with one similar. BTW good prompt service from Scaramanga. Thanks
I searched all over for the perfect 'man bag' for my boyfriend and had an impossible time finding it... until I stumbled on your website. This bag is EXACTLY what he wanted, and refreshingly affordable even with the low value of the dollar. I initially picked the wrong size and the exchange was so easy and painless, even from the US. For others trying to choose a size, our experience was that the large looked too big on my thin 5'9' boyfriend. The medium looks great and still fits his 13' laptop perfectly. I bought this bag as a christmas gift for my husbandand he loves it and uses it everyday for work. Can fit his paper work and laptop in no probs!! The best thing about this bag is that it looks great. The pictures don't do it justice it really is a cool bag! This easy to deal with company are fab!!!
I've used this bag daily for months now and can't find fault in it. I searched far and wide prior to buying it and was was unable to find anything like this online. It was exactly what I was after (and at a reasonable price) so I would reccomend it and the website to anyone.
Great service and i'm really pleased with the bag from Scaramanga. Most leather satchels on the market are very expensive and don't look good either but this was both reasonable priced and looks great. Gets better with age too!
This bag was exactly what I was looking for - I've seen others in London for hundreds of pounds but this one is perfect for a fraction of the price. The service was also amazing - I ordered on a Monday morning and received the bag by 1st class post at the other end of the country the next day.
I bought one of these satchels as a present for myself on graduating in Fine Art. I was looking for a leather bag that had a 'lived in' look, and this satchel is perfect. I trawled through dozens of websites in my search for such a bag, and 'Scaramanga' was the only company that had what I was looking for. The satchel is well made, soft and flexible, and has just the right amount of useful pockets to make it easy to navigate! In the past I've had bags with far too many pockets making it extremely difficult to find things when needed....... particularly trying if attempting to answer a mobile call in a hurry! The colour of the leather is beautiful, and I'm sure the bag will get even better with age. Several people have admired the bag with a view to buying and I have given them your name. As a student, i required something to hold all my daily uni rubbish, iphone, masses of papers, books and food maybe! so had a little browse.. alot of things around 100quid that i'd be buying purely because of the label.. they looked OK.. nothing special mind. This is a very well made, and very nice looking bag. It is an ideal size for work and looks great too. I was amazed by the level of customer service provided by the team, as well as the prompt delivery within two days of placing the order. A top quality bag at a great price! I was also lucky enough to get a satchel with a handle attached, which makes the bag even more practical. So I would suggest that if there is something you want but can't quite find, ASK! I found that any enquiry made to the team was answered promptly and with great care and attention. A great site that I wholeheartedly recopmmend.
