The ultimate compact leather satchel bag is available only from Scaramanga in beautiful vintage leather.
Our current stock is available in either a 'distressed leather' or 'antique polished leather' finish. There is likely to be some variation in the colour and shading of the colour of different parts of the bag.
We do not have the the 'distressed leather' finish shown in some of close up images.
Scaramanga’s versatile leather Overlander bags are inspired by the iconic black leather pilot’s case, and combines the spaciousness of a pilot’s case with the retro style of our best selling vintage leather satchels.
The Overlander leather bag can be used as a work bag, leather travel bag, a leather laptop bag, for going out and shopping, or as a university or college book bag. So now you can have one bag for so many uses.
In addition to the spacious main compartment (10cm / 4” deep), which is perfect for carrying a laptop as well as books and clothes, there is an expandable 5cm (2”) front compartment ideal for paperwork, notes or a newspaper; and a zipped front compartment. The leather satchel style bag also has a small front pocket ideal for a mobile, i-Pod, Blackberry or wallet / purse. Suitable for compact and mini laptops. We strongly recommend using a protective neoprene sleeve - such as those sold by Belkin.
Each bag has been handmade and features strong double stitching and a tough lining as well as an adjustable super wide comfortable 54” shoulder strap.

The lining may be a lighter or darker colour to the one shown in the images. If you would like further information please contact us before you order. Please bear in mind that each leather satchel is a totally natural product therefore the colours and the finish can vary from one piece to the next. Each has a unique antique leather / lightly distressed vintage leather look. Parts from several hides may be used to make a single Scaramanga leather bag so there may be some variation in colour and the textures to the different parts of a bag, which will create a wonderfully unique effect. Natural lines and marks in the leather are left fully exposed. There may also be visible creases in the leather. These features go to show the genuine origin of our leather satchels and messengers bags, they form part of the bag and will not affect its durability. Our leather bags are handmade and your new leather bag may be subject to natural variation in its size. All this simply enhances the unique appearance of your bag and adds extra character.

I was really undecided between the Scaramanga small Overlander and Cambridge Satchel's 15" Dark Brown Batchel. I wanted a bag with a top handle and one with pockets, extra compartments for my work stuff and of course one that looked good. I wasn't asking too much. It took me a whole week to decide. I asked so many friends ... In the end I went for the Scaramanga batchel / Overlander. Why? it had extra side pockets for my mobile / keys and a larger front pocket for my netbook. I initially wanted the Medium wide leather satchel, but it's been out of stock for a while, then whilst browsing I found this! I needed something for uni, carrying a few A4 notebooks and a textbook or two, along with a bottle of water and umbrella, and this is the perfect size. It's not too big and it's very vintage prep school, I love it. The lighter shade of leather gives it a 60's feel and it feels so sturdy, I definitely believe it will last me a while.
Also very pleased it was sent via Royal Mail, so that when I missed the mailman, I was able to run down and collect it the next day.

I returned the large flight bag due to me being picky and not totally loving the shade of brown it came in. Even though Scaramanga clearly states that the colors vary, the customer service was great! I returned it for this bag, it has just arrived, and I Love It!!!
Its a warm caramel brown, well crafted, comfortable to wear, fits about two large (thick) text books or a large notebook and a textbook or four thinner books, all of my important purse items (in the front pocket) a separate pocket for my phone and even more pockets for my calculator and other items I have yet to think of. If you want it to carry more you might want to go with the next size up. But this bag is perfect for my needs.
