Product Information for Vintage Wooden Stationery Chest 954

SOLD Striking vintage stationery chest, made from a heavy dark tropical hardwood - probably rosewood. The chest has an unusually large amount of brass edging and has a brass cartouche, handles and hasp and staple. The lid lifts to reveal a top level with eleven compartments, including six in two removable trays.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory boxes or a great place to put your valuables.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.

Indian merchants would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping money, valuables, notes and records.

We also have antique brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.
