Product Information for Vintage Steamer Wardrobe Trunk 1594

SOLD  Sumptuous vintage steamer trunk from the 1920/30s with a stunning interior. This well fitted trunk dates from the Art Deco period.  Also known as a cabin trunk or wardrobe trunk. It folds open to reveal an expanding wardrobe section and an arrangement of 4 drawers. This is an good example of an old travel trunk which has a hanging rail, wooden hangers, lower document and briefcase and an original clothes protector in one side and four drawers on the other. This is a good example of luggage specially made for the rigours of rail, sea and road travel. The trunk's interior is in fair condition with the original fittings and lining. There are a few marks or dents to the exterior of the trunk which are consistent with its use. Original working US Eagle lock with key.

Today they make interesting and fascinating features around the home. Their bold simple construction and their distressed look and feel mean they can be used in so many ways. Use an old trunk at the end of a bed or on top of a cupboard or wardrobe for storing linen or clothes.
