Product Information for Old Wooden Chest 761

SOLD   Original South Indian large old wooden chest with a stunningly beautiful hand carved interior.
The lid lifts to reveal the top level with twelve compartments of varying sizes with carved flower lids.
On the inside of the lid is a carved rack running the width of the chest. Under the two trays is the lower level comprising a several compartments, including a double compartment draw.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
Indian merchants and families would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping stationery, valuables, heirlooms, notes and records.

We also have antique brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.
