SOLD Large old wooden chest with a stunningly beautiful hand carved interior, handles, brass bindings, facings, edgings, double hasp and motifs on its front panel..
The lid lifts to reveal a top level with eight compartments of varying sizes with intricately hand carved lids. Ideal for storing small items such as jewellery. 
Under the two removable trays is the lower level comprising a single large compartment taking up most of the area of the trunk. We resisited stripping the paint to reveal the original colour.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
Indian merchants and families would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping money, valuables, heirlooms, notes and records.

We also have antique brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.

Note: There is visable thin band of lighter wood, which has been used during the repair of the top panel. Our chests are not new or made to look old. They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. We feel these add to their character and appeal.
