Product Information for Old Turquoise Wooden Chest 1501

SOLD  Large old faded turquoise wooden chest with iron side bands and handles. The chest would have originally been made and initially used with a natural dark wooden finish. At sometime its owners would have painted it. Over time the paint has faded to reveal some of the original dark wood.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
This distinctive old chests would make a stunning feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.

Indian families would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for storing valuables, notes and records.
We also have antique and new brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.

Note: This particular chest has a narrow gap showing between the pieces of wood used to make the top panel. These are not cracks are are normal for an old piece of furniture. Our chests are not new or made to look old. They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. We feel these add to their character and appeal.
