Product Information for Large Old Kist 1108

SOLD   Large old wooden kist (blanket chest) with thick heavy hasp. The lid opens to reveal a large main compartment.
Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
Indian merchants and families would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping stationery, valuables, heirlooms, notes and records.

We also have antique brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.

Note: Our chests are not new or made to look old. They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. The chest would have originally been made and initially used with a natural dark wooden finish. At sometime its owners would have painted it blue. Over time the paint has faded to reveal some of the original dark wood.
