SOLD Original large camphorwood chest with thick iron edging and side handles. This chest is probably our chunkiest chest. It is constructed from very think camphorwood and finished with iron banding. The wood gives off a wonderful scent, which was intended to repell pests such as moths and woodworm. This is one of our favourite chests.
Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
A family would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping stationery, valuables, heirlooms, notes and records.
We also have antique brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.
