Product Information for Golden Teak Travel Chest 1596

SOLD Old golden teak travel chest with double hasp and staple. The lid lifts to reveal a single main compartment with a zinc lining. The chest haa been made to a very high specification from thick teak planks. We believe this trunk and similar one were used as travel chests in Burma and were made from Burmese golden teak in the early 20th century. The use of zinc to line the chest guarantees it's contents are kept perfectly dry. This chest makes a great bench too! Why not try some of our colourful vintage cushions. There is a faded travel sticker on the rear panel from 'Rangoon'.
