SOLD  Old British naval trunk believed to be from around 1960's.
Strong metal trunk with reinforced edges and corners. The side panels have labels with the following enscribed on it: 'Lt CDR J A Gilchrist ... RNVR'
The lid opens to reveal an upper removeable and a lower compartment.
Officer's military chests like these would have been a modern alternative to wooden military chests used across the British Empire.
 
Our chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
