Product Information for Blue Jewellery Box 938

SOLD Vintage blue jewellery box. This old box makes a perfect jewellery box with ten different sized compartments. Ideal for keeping your valuables safe. A small tray lifts to reveal a large lower compartment. The box has a beautiful distressed blue and green finish. The box would have originally  been unpainted a previous owner painted it green and then blue and over time the paint has faded to reveal the green and finish and brass decorations, which include fish and stars. The box has a small handle and a hasp and staple.

Indian merchants or shopkeepers would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping cash, valuables, notes and records. Each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments they contain

We also have antique and new brass padlocks available to complement our antique wooden boxes and moneyboxes.
