Antique travel trunk used on trans-continental travel during the c19th and early c20th by a British civil engineer posted to India. The trunk is part of a set of five that were later used by his son during his stay in India as part of the Indian Civil Service.
Strong wooden bound trunk with reinforced edges and corners and original shipping labels and painted shipping instructions. The trunk was shipped by Cox and Kings. We have stripped, wax and treated each trunk for woodworm and treated the corroded metal.
Our chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.
