SOLD Antique pine kist (old blanket chest) with upper level candle storage compartment. This large old chest is the only old pine chest we have in stock. Its board panel construction gives it a simple country style.  The lid opens to reveal a large main compartment, with a small upper level compartment, which would have traditionally used to keep emergency candles. The would have been used to store blankets and bed linen.

Our old wooden chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
This distinctive old chests would make a stunning feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.

We also have antique and new brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.
