Product Information for Old Wooden Jewellery Chest

SOLD Unusal old goldsmith's chest, with ornate brass decorations and patterns on the front and side panels.
The lid lifts to reveal the top level with a main comaperment, below which are three draws.
On the inside of the lid is a rack running the width of the chest, which would have been used for storing letters.
Under the tray is the lower level comprising a single compartment taking up most of the area of the trunk.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery chest or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.

Indian goldsmiths would have used the top panel as a small work bench for make gold jewellery and the lower compartment and draws for storing their materials and tools.

We also have antique and new brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.
