Product Information for Old Merchant's Chest 1528

SOLD   Striking old wooden  merchants chest with money slot. The chest has brass bindings and hasp and staple. The lid lifts to reveal a top level with several compartments and a larger lower compartment.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory boxes or a great place to put your valuables.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.

Indian merchants would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping money, valuables, notes and records.

We also have antique brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.

Note: The small mirror in the lid is old and not clear. Our chests are not new or made to look old. They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. We feel these add to their character and appeal.
