SOLD Old merchant’s cash box with brass money slot. Lid lifts to reveal large compartment and a small upper compartment.

Indian merchants or shopkeepers would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping cash, valuables, notes and records. Each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments they contain

We also have antique and new brass padlocks available to complement our antique wooden boxes and moneyboxes.

Due to their size/weight we are unable to accept orders for wooden boxes outside the UK.

They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. We feel these add to their character and appeal.
