Old wooden chest with eleven compartments. The lid lifts to reveal the top level with nine compartments (including three in a removable tray). The lower level comprising a single compartment takes up most of the area of the trunk.
A rack runs the entire length of the lid. The chest is decorated with thick recessed brass straps. Scalloped aproned base.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.

Indian families would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping money, valuables, notes and records.
