SOLD     Old British military chest from the Royal Scots Greys. A strong metal and wood trunk with reinforced edges and corners. The top panel has the following enscribed on it: 'J D CALLANDER ...Royal Scots Greys'. The lid opens to reveal a single compartment. The chest has its original Grey's grey paint finish.
Military chests would have been used to store a soldier's uniform. This particular military trunk is unusually long to accomodate the cavalry soldier's sword and riding boots.

They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory boxes or a great place to put your valuables.

The Royal Scots Greys was a cavalry regiment from 1678 until 1971.They merged with the 3rd Carabiniers to form The Royal Scots Dragoon Guard.

It was at Waterloo that the Scots Greys fought their most famous action with the capture of the eagle of the French 45th infantry with Napoleon famously exclaiming ’Those terrible grey horses, how they strive!’

Note: No key supplied. This old metal trunk has significant wear on its exterior. Our chests are not new or made to look old. They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. We feel these add to their character and appeal.
