Product Information for Large Blue Wooden Chest 1238

SOLD Large old blue wooden chest with a stunningly beautiful hand carved interior. The chest would have originally been made and initially used with a natural dark wooden finish. At sometime its owners would have painted it blue. Over time the paint has faded to reveal some of the original dark wood.
The lid lifts to reveal the top level with seven compartments of varying sizes with carved flower lids. 
Under the two trays is the lower level comprising a single large compartment taking up most of the area of the trunk.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
Indian merchants and families would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping stationery, valuables, heirlooms, notes and records.

We also have antique brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.
