This Grand old wooden chest is one of the largest chest we have on our website - although we do have several larger at our Gateside Mills store. Its panel construction gives it a simple country style.  The lid opens to reveal a large main compartment, with a small upper level compartment. The chest features an aproned scalloped base.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
This distinctive old chests would make a stunning feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.

Indian merchants would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping money, valuables, notes and records.
We also have antique and new brass padlocks available to complement our old wooden chests and trunks.

Due their size / weight we are unable to accept orders for chests outside the UK.

Note: Our chests are not new or made to look old. They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use.
