Product Information for Antique Wedding Chest 2850

SOLD Antique wedding chest with an inlain brass front panel and a beautiful hand carved interior, carved front panel, handles, bindings, facings, and edgings. This chest has the thickest single plank teak top panel we have ever seen! The side and base panels are also incredibly think and heavy. This is a very solid antique chest.
The lid lifts to reveal the top level with eight compartments of varying sizes with carved flower lids. The inside of the lid has a rack running the length of the chest with additinal decorative finishing and a small mirror.
Under the tray is the lower level comprising a single large compartment taking up most of the area of the trunk.

Our hardwood chests and trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.

Indian families would have originally used these authentic old wooden chests for keeping money, valuables, notes and records.
