Product Information for Antique Door Cupboard

SOLD Imposing antique door cupboard. The doors on this old piece of furniture are a work of art on their own. The doors, originally a shutter for a window frame, was salvaged from an window from a delapidated old house in Rajasthan, India. The door is probably over 100 years old and is a work of art in its own right. It is 7.5cm (3") thick and constructed from a very heavy tropical hardwood, long iron nails - were used to keep the cross-pieces from the panels together and give the front of the door a wonderful studded effect. The door opens to reveal a single fixed shelf. The door and its frame has a lovely faded pastel green patina.
The doors open to reveal two shelves, which are ideal for storing clothes or bed-linen.
The cupboard doors have a brass hasp and staple, and a sliding bolt to keep them securely closed.
